Default Starter motor bolts?

Went to start jeep and not a lot happened...got underneath it to find that the starter was hanging off. One bolt had disapeared and the other had sheared off. Managed to get the headless bolt out but now having trouble finding replacments.

Its a '93 2.5 petrol so not the most common. Just wondering if the bolts changed much between later models or are different from the 4.0?

Thanks.

According to the parts catalog the part number is J4006964, but has changed to 6035607, which is used on the 97-99 Dodge Dakota 2.5 L. They are still available under the new part number from the dealer.I have no inch measurements for these bolts.

4.0 bolts won't work.

Ok, thanks. Are both bolts the same size and length? I remember removing them a while back and one was shorter?

Do you know what other jeeps the same bolts were used on?

Thanks

I don't know anything about the bolts themselves, only what the parts catalog states. It calls for two bolts, both the same part number.

Okay thanks for the help.

Had the broken bolt measured...turns out its pretty standard.

They're both a 3/8 x 4" UNC

Made sense to just buy a couple of standard (strengthened) bolts with hex heads instead of getting the jeep part with the awkward inverted torx bit.

Thanks, matt.
