Default Got locked IN today, think jeep tried to eat me. HELP

Ok due to some extraordinarily circumstances, I, yes, actually got fully locked in my jeep. Very cold night, freezing rain, lots of snow. I warmed up the jeep before work this morning and to my luck, the driver door wouldnt close, just kept bouncing back. I couldnt get the latch to work so instead of driving snowing roads with a door flapping in the wind, I got in an locked it, thankfully stayed shut. Got to work the door wouldnt unlock, but I know it is sticky so just crawl out the pass door right? (2 door btw). NO frozen shut, which often happens to that door, wont open with the kicking I gave it. Thought wow this is bad I'll have to crawl out the one window that does go down, NOPE frozen as well. Hatch...cant exactly open from the inside. Couldnt get out. Drove home, called someone to get my spare key to open the hatch, so I've been using that all day. Now how do I get the driver door open? outside latch is "free" cant feel it engaging anything... inside same thing...the lock wont move. Any ideas???? P.s sorry for long story but It was funny

SpacedOutXJ, You have seen the final frontier!

...and it sounds like your inner-door-space linkages are pizzled.

Sorry dude, but picturing you trying to get out your passenger door then crawling to the back to get out the tailgate, then just driving away is hilarious!

I had my door latch go bad before. I was able to roll the window down, pull up on the weatherstripping and use a long flat-head to push on the latch's opening rod while pulling the door open. If you can't get the window down then hopefully pulling up on the weatherstripping will give you enough clearance.

ive had this happen to me last winter, my window rolled down so i nascar styled it out. It ended up opening back up on a warm day.

Lithium grease on any moving mechanical parts to lube them and keep water out so they dont freeze again. Vaseline on the rubber around the door so they wont freeze shut again.

hey guys. not to hijack this thread but today it was 13 degrees outside. i got in my driverside door and tryed to shut it. it wouldnt shut and i thought i just wasnt closeing it hard enough. i closed it a bit harder and now wether its unlocked or locked i cant open the door from the inside or out. i have to use my passenger side door to get in and out. i think i broke the linkage inside the door but its just a hunch. any inside tips?
