....like it's hitting the fan blade, power steering pump pulley starting making a rattling noise, does it need a new pump or has it sprung a leak somewhere?

Sometimes the pulley stops rattling for a few moments, then the spewing stops. 4.0

 

sounds like you need a new pump.

 

the pumps will rattle if its out off fluid so stop running it or you will for sure need a new one

were is the fluid coming out of

 

its probably a hose

 

clean the engine compartment with some degreaser add power steering fluid
start it up and look for leak
