Speedometer not working
Hello All,
I recently had my AX-15 rebuilt. I slapped that puppy in and she runs pretty good now. I'm having 2 problems though.
#1 My speedometer no longer works. I think the censor might have been damaged during the rebuild, but not sure how to check to see if that is the problem. All of my other instruments work well so I know it can't be a fuse problem.
#2 whenever I slow down to a stop the car wants to turn off. The car sat for about a week in my backyard and never had that problem before the rebuild. I'm gonna start by changing the fuel filter and see if that may be the problem, next maybe change my distributor cap and wires.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
Cheers
Steve

Thanks for the quick reply.
I didn't rebuild the tranny myself. Maybe I should call the mechanic that rebuilt it and ask him. All the censors are on the tranny now. I even disconnected them and reconnected back to make sure they had good contact.

Well it wouldnt really be a sensor problem if they pulled the speedo gear out.. Look under where your VSS is located there should be some numbers on the attachment housing..(Part that goes into transfer case) youll see a fork that holds it in place.. If it is not calibrated with the right tooth count, either A your gear is worn to a nub or B its not connecting with your drive gear.
