any one know what size the speakers are in a 2001 xj sound bar?

I have been doing my homework on this very subject..my 98 has 6.5" in the front door's and 5.25 in the sound bar. Infinity speakers are about the best for the price thats what im geting.
5022I for the rear and 6022SI fronts

I dont know about the sound bar, kinda wish I had one..

However, my 93 had 5.25"s in doors and rear hatch..

It might have actually been 5.25 in the sound bar as you stated. I might have gotten the numbers mixed up

They are 5.25s in a 2000 i replaced mine a couple months ago.

From what I've read and am experiencing 5.25's all around. Just pulled my soundbar both speakers were OEM 5.25's and blown to ****. I'm modifying to 6.5's I already had.

x2....acually my 98 has 6.5 unmodified same with the front doors

I personally moded it for 6 1/2, it's fairly easy. I ran a small amp to my speakers so it made scense because tere is a better selection. If your not going to run an amp just leave them stock size 5.25. (51/4) listed in some cases.

just put infinity 6032cf's in the doors of my 98. used window weather strip behind speaker basket for nice snug fit. had to drill new mounting holes as stock spkrs are only held in with two. boosted them on a rf 300.2 amp. got them on amazon for 50. they sound friggin awesome. I threw some alpine type S 5.25 in the back bar, but they were a little smaller than the stock so i was thinking about getting some 6" mid bass spkrs for the bar and throwing those on the amp too. should sound pretty good.
