I just installed three new solenoids in my 96 XJ tranny. I have as yet to button up the lower pan, I'll do that in the morning. Replacing the units is easy it's getting to them that is a bear. I had to drop the cross support beam in order to get the fluid pan off and out. My exhaust pipe must be of a slightly larger diameter than some because I've read some have the pan coming out easily.

My tranny was shifting from first to third bypassing second. Other than that it was running fine. Good thing I finally got in there, the fluid was starting to turn. Hopefully this will cure the shifting issues.
