Unhappy Sluggish/slow to accelerate

Hello,

I've had my jeep for about five years. We recently had to replace the radiator, clean out the starter and the neutral safety switch, put in all new spark plugs. It was working great and then my water pump just gave out. So replaced that about two weeks ago. The day I got it back my oil gauge was freaking out, the oil pressure sending unit was leaking so I replaced that. Now all of a sudden the jeep is slow to accelerate. I've been having random issues where the tachometer will just stop working and generally it will start working again just as randomly.

So the tachometer is not registering at all but I can still tell the jeep is accelerating sluggishly. I'm not sure what the different causes of this could be so if anyone has had a similar problem what was the cause? Is there anything I could try to eliminate some of the possible causes?

Thanks for the help!

What year is yours?

You never mentioned replacing the plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. That would be your first step. Unless you have coil packs... But I'm on the app and can't see what year you have.

Okay you have a '95. Do the plug wires, distributor cap (brass contacts) and rotor. Might as well do your fuel filter and air filter too if it's been a while

Within the year we replaced the air filter. I'm not sure about the fuel filter though. Am going to try the rotor, distributor cap but the plug wires look good.

Might be a good time to clean up all the ground connections. Battery, chassis, engine block, the one down by the coil, PCM grounds...
The tach drive comes from the PCM, might check the connectors to see if there's anything loose or corroded.
Take a look at the TPS too, see if it's working.
Center wire is the output voltage, other meter lead to ground. Key ON engine OFF. Slowly open the throttle by hand. Voltage should increase from just under 1V to just over 4V. Smooth increase, no flat spots or dropouts.
