Default Broken drivers door lock...not power locks

Hey there! I hope somebody can possibly help me out here since I don't have the first clue as to what to expect when I take my door panel apart to try and solve this problem. I'm posting this to pretty much see if anybody else has had the same problem and what you had to buy to fix it. The problem is that my lock is broken on my drivers door and has been since I bought the Jeep a few months ago. I just open it from the passenger side and reach over to unlock the drivers door but its beginning to be a pain in the butt so I want to get it fixed. On the Drivers door, the key goes in and won't turn AT ALL not even a hair. Do you have any idea what it could be? They are not power locks, I don't have power anything in my Jeep lol. Thanks for your time, have a great day!!!

Hey Sam. You might want to start by luben some stuff. I like the spray chain and cable lube. (you can bean the inside of the lock through the window crack when it's down). One locksmith says to use silicone spray for the key hole. That works but blaster or something should help. Gotta wonder if the lock wasn't changed too.
If you do get into it be careful with the plastic clips and stuff. It gets brittle and sucks when it snaps. On my 90, inside the lock mechanism there was a (stupid) plastic piece in a critical spot that needs to hold right for it to unlock. That was messed up and I Mc Givered it somehow so it would work. (still does)
I think think that was for both key and lever though.
Anyway if luben doesn't work you might want to look for a replacement. Good luck! Don

Thanks for the reply Don! I appreciate it alot! I'll get some lube and spray it in the key hole. If that doesn't work, I'm gonna take my door panel off and try to see what might be causing the problem. How much worse could I possibly make it lol. Take care man!
