I am doing mine right now.

mine were completely rusted and half of the rocker panels were gone. I bough some new one for about 40$ each.

for the install its not that bad, but does take some time to do. I have one side done took about 3-4 hours. Now that I know how to approach it, the next one should take about 2 hours. I had to remove the rear door to fit the rocker pannel and mig weld the rocker pannel in place

We had to trim the rocker pannel so its fits properly. Then grind the metal, weld the rocker pannel on top. Hard because metal is not thick, burnt through a couple times, but managed to get it done. At the bottom we used pop-rivets. The metal was eaten away real bad and there was no way we could weld the new ones on there. Its looks very good. You could rivet the whole thing it would work. It is defenitly doable at home if you have spare time !

I will be doing the other side tonight and painting over the weekend. Hopefully everything will go well

'Jist bought complete below-doors panels from JC Whitney, 2, shipped, about $80 total. They look pretty good but...

...ain't done any bodywork in decades.
How to prep the steel for primer and paint?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
