Separate door and ignition keys on the early XJs?
Hi all -- Were there separate keys for the door and the ignition on the 1988 Cherokee? I've been looking at key replacement options and I'm seeing references to "door key" and "ignition key" for some of those early XJ models. (I haven't bought an XJ yet.) For example, this one is labeled a "door/trunk key", and they've got a different one listed as an ignition key. They're apparently for 1985/86 through 1990 -- the Renix years. Was this the norm back then? I don't remember cars having two different keys. It seems like a hassle.
Thanks.
Thanks.

my 1990 uses two keys round for doors, square for ignition at one time a common feature on American cars.
