When we bought ours used neither backup light worked. Found that the bulb sockets are really cheap. Here in Arizona anything made of rubber, plastic, or wood dry rots real bad over time and both the socket's internals suffered this fate. I managed to "repair" both sockets, and they're working but it's not perfect by any means. I really want to cut them out and replace them, but haven't been able to find anything that I can splice in yet.
Yours might be something totally different. Just wanted to share what ours turned out to be.

Click on the link, it's not an NSS for an Automatic tranny.
