Replacing the Antenna on my 91' Jeep Cherokee Briarwood?
Hey people,
My original Antenna finally gave way and broke off near the bottom (above
the mast).
My question is, do I need to completely take off the front fender to replace
it? or can I take it off part way? (it seems like I can).
Also, I am considering getting an interior antenna instead of the traditional
exterior one. This would be for my factory/stock radio only. I would
appreciate it if someone on here can suggest a good interior antenna to
buy (link included please).
Ideally, I would like the interior antenna to be as discreet as possible so it
does not look too goofy inside.
Suggestions for good exterior antennas are also welcome.
I greatly appreciate all your input .
Thanks.

Ok looking at my directions from crutchfield..I haven't removed mine yet..
First remove the stereo head unit and unplug the antenna from there. then remove the ashtray, then the lower dash panel then remove the passengers side kick panel. Then remove the splash/linder ( 5 3/8" nuts on outer edge and 5 retaining clips). The mast can be remove using a wrench and then remove the nut...There will be a grommet inside the fender well where the antenna wire goes into the cab of the jeep keep that and do not tear it up. The rest should be easy from there just remove the antenna then replace it with the new one...
I'll scan my pages this weekend if I can get my hands on a scanner and post the pdf for everyone to view.

Well, I finally decided to put an internal antenna (brand name is Best and it costed $50) in. It is an electronic antenna that I had mounted to the windshield. It seems to work fine so far. Then, I went to my local dealer to buy a grommet that plugs the hole for the exterior antenna. Now, I am not a cheap bastard, I thought $6 dollars for a grommet was a bit much, but this grommet fits that hole like a glove. Them dealers almost have a monopoly going!.....LOL
Anyway, thanks all. Okcjeeeper, you could go ahead and post the info anyway since it is helpful for others.

I know this is a very old post but do you still have the pdf instructions on how to do this? My antenna is broke on the exterior of the jeep.
