Default Renix egr tube need help finding

So I've check with napa, oReily's, the local salvage yards and the internet and I cant seem to find one. Does anyone know where I can find one? New or used, it does not matter at this point.

Thanks,
Aaron

I am looking for an EGR tube myself. Mine was cut and crimped by who ever did the motor swap from the the 89 4.0 to the 95 4.0 that my xj has now. I have been able to find a few people parting out xj's on Craigslist but I got home to late from work to meet up with them. Check the junk yards and even the dreaded "stealership", I am going to call them tomorrow to get an idea on pricing. I've been toying with the idea of soddering one from copper plumbing tubing but only as a last resort. It just carries fuel rich fumes back to the engine from the exhaust.

Not sure soldering will be your best bet. Maybe with the old fittings you could fit something. Did you check Ebay?

No I haven't checked eBay yet, I'm going to hit a couple junk yards today and see what I can find. I've been connecting all my emissions equipment back up, I've got everything connected except for the egr tube, when I'm on the highway running about 3000 rpm the go back to 2000 the engine missfires. I'm thinking its running to rich but can't control it self right cause of the egr tube

I've run Renix Jeeps without EGR with no driveability issues. Hope you get your problem fixed, but I think the EGR tube missing is not the issue unless the system is drawing in air all the time from a crappy crimp at the manifold.

The jeep was running fine until I started to hook all the emisions back up along with the ecu vacume hose, and now I think the ecu is trying to control the fuel richness but is unable to due to the non existing ecu tube.

Well then. try UN-plugging it? The egr, working perfectly will never make it run better. It's only a matter of how much it screws it up. It's intended to screw it up only very slightly, to prevent really high combustion pressure and temp.

I've posted this 100 times and I'll do it again. I had a situation where the wires to my injectors where grounding, a little, sometimes, causing all sorts of intermittent problems for over a year. On mine the edge of the heat shield was starting to cut in....a supper easy check. Good luck...D.

I believe the puter' tries to adjust the mixture based on readings from the first 02 sensor. If you have a vacuum leak somewhere, (including the egr valve), it will try to compensate for it. After all, air is air.

I just got off the phone with the dealership, they want $108.84 for the EGR tube. That's highway robery!

I'm in Northern Ca. Way back a wrecker in Portland ORE. actually put an Audi part I needed on a greyhound headed my way. Bus came on time!

Just a thought, maybe an out of town wrecker would ship it without gouging too much. Could also try "Wanted" on CL...

With the attaching hardware you have somebody local might be able to fashion a tube to fit. Myself I'd ask my local diesel shop. They do all sorts of things big. Also here we have a great guy at the welders/metal fabrication shop.

Also check at your hardware store. They may have Ferrel type fittings that would attach to your tube stubs. (that's where a nut compresses a ring on the tube)

It ain't the EGR and there's no ECU vac hose. You're completely off track about the EGR tube.

I'll bet dollars to donuts your MAP sensor hose is blocked, cracked, melted or plugged into the wrong hole in the throttle body.

Now I got confused. Stephon, you hijacked Arons thread. Its tough enough to try to help with something you can't see or touch. If I where you I'd listen to cruiser, whoever you are.

Arron, if you go to walker exhaust you might want to go right to contact them. I looked around and didn't see it. I still think a wreckers should have it. They may not want to bother because they are such a ***** to remove. You might have better luck in person than on the phone.

Donde??? I got mine from the dealer for my old Renix, special ordered and it was only $18. Sure he had the right part number?

Edit: Nevermind, that was a vacuum line.

Check RockAuto.com.

I found a local place here in Phoenix called AMC 4x4 http://www.amc4x4.com/ they were very helpful. $10 for the ERG tube plus $2.50 for the rubber gomet I needed for the top of the crank case, not bad in my book. It took me about 30 mins to install the tube. Life is a lot easier when your rig is lifted enough to slide under it with out jacking it up!
