Default Removing transcooler lines from radiator

I'm new on here so bear with me:

I'm doing a radiator swap on a 2000 XJ from the OEM to a 2 Core all aluminum. I'm almost there getting the stock one out but for the life of me can't get the lower transmission cooler line to "quick" disconnect. I have the disconnect tool but is there something I should be doing other than jamming it in there and trying to pull the hose off the radiator barb?

Just unthread it from the radiator itself.

That works for the top one, but the bottom line is a "quick" disconnect style fitting and I can't get it to disconnect even using the the line disconnect tool.

I had that issue on my 99, if the radiator in it is junk, cut the metal line that runs into the rad. itself remove the rad outta the way, then you can move the whole line to at least get a better look at whats going on with the connect (of course cut the metal line close to the rad so the 2 pieces are still connected)...i just used a few small screwdrivers to pop the clip from there....

Probably not a "recommended" way of doing things, but like i said it worked for me...and if you have the tool, it should be easy

EDIT ADD

I also remember having to push the two lines together slightly while popping that clip....made some extra room for it to unclip inside the fitting
