removing my catalytic converter
If I removed my catalytic converter would my 98 Cherokee miss it?? What I mean by that does it have any sensors that require it??
I know they are required in by law, but I live on an Indian reservation and we don’t require DEQ for registration.

Yes you have 2 O2 sensors one before and one after the cat.. Also it's illegal to remove your cat and we can't chat about illegal stuff on the forum..Sorry that be the rules..

I've always wanted to take mine off but I've heard thAt it doesn't actually give you any better performance besides I bet the sound would sound cool in the beginning but will get annoying after a while.

it wont really miss but u will lose fuel economy and all your low end torque. u can get a thing to fool the sensors but it is illegal unless u have an off road only permit in which can it is legal. i can say that in anything older than a 95 it will not hurt ur performance any and that when cats get old the bricks inside can break and fall out and its not illegal to drive with a cat with no guts but it does open ur exhaust up some. just sayin

I took mine out as a troubleshooting aid, and replaced the muffler too. I'm running without the cat for now, but know that I will replace it when personal funding improves (Kids are starting the next semester of college next week).
