REAL projectors, not ebay junk
I've just been lurking on here recently. picked up a xj a few weeks ago to replace my totaled zj that got hit.
anyway first thing i noticed is the lighting on these SUCKS. wanted to go projectors and hids. didn't want to just use regular h4 housings n a kit since i don't want to blind people and want clean cutoff line. obviously those ones on ebay are fake junk.
anyway i started thinking, my mr2 (weekend/500hp racecar) has sealed beams too. theres a company who makes REAL projectors for it. so i looked around n found they use the same ****ty sealed beams.
so these real projectors SHOULD drop straight in without a single issue. worse for worse i'll throw em in the racecar. they are a lil pricy but I'm scooping some up locally second-hand for a good price today and will try to install them tomorrow.

there is a link to the parts and where you can order.
I'll update this once i install them into the xj and let ya'll know how it works.
whatcha think?

yea although now there are h7 kits that have a hi/low setup. he had to go h7s because the bulbs aren't as long and h4's wouldn't fit inside the projectors. still should be a ton better than sealed beams or h4s with hids since there is a projector in these

I think this is sweet! I will follow this i wanna know how the swap itself goes lots and lots of pics please!
p.s. on the no high beam issue just wire in your own high beams (i.e. flood lights) to the stock switch but wire it so the hids stay on and the aftermarket lights come on with them... as for legality they dont have to be brighter than the low beams but instead they just need to aim higher so you can see further.

weather is gonna be nice tomorrow so i'll try my best to get them in. I'll do a bunch of pics (gives excuse to use new camera gf got me) and do 1 light at a time for comparison.
Gonna order up some HIDs for the fogs as well soon i think.

I'm interested to see if those will fit. I just did an HID conversion in my driving lights and I'm impressed so I'd like to find some quality projectors for my headlamps. Good luck!

most HID kits don't have a high beam as there is only one "element" in HID bulbs. the kits that do have a high beam usually move the bulb to change the light pattern. i would be interested in this kit except i may not like the look of these housings in a cherokee. now if the lens was blacked out, that might be better. it is a little pricey, too. i may just have to put my 7" off-road HIDs back on the front bumper. i can see everything with those.

some HID bulbs even have a halogen "element" for the high beam. or, some of them have a little mechanical "cutoff". but yea most are just one element

itll be better than a cheap projector shoved into a plastic housing. JB is a great guy and does awesome work.
