Also, I saw this a few months ago: http://www.ebay.com/itm/19910000-Jeep-Cherokee-100-LOADED-TIME-CAPSULE-WAGONEER-/231649500160?forcerrptr=true&hash=item35ef62dc00&item=231649500160&nma=true&si=f6tKvn%252BZ87F42QVlHUGjhSmpckc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Not rare in terms of options, but rare in terms of condition. True that Xjs are getting rarer and starting to get junked, so hold on to yours and keep it up!

I've only ever come across one. I pulled the RHD-specific instrument cluster and dash trim and sold it on EBay. People generally fight a little harder to keep those on the road when they break. My mail carrier has a RHD that was identical to mine before I installed my lift. If he ever sells it he's giving me first shot at it.

It must be an area specific thing. I've come across three in the JY in the last three years. 1 was IIRC a '90, and the other two were '97-01. Still not overly common though.

Love my 2.5 TD. All the torque of the 4.0 with 32mpg.

I see little mention of the Upcountry package. Factory skid plates, tow hooks, limited slip 8.25, and a spring package that gives ~1" lift. Not so rare?

Nope, even I've seen a couple. And you could order both Upcountry and ABS, which would give a D35.

Saw this driving home the other day. Couldn't get a good pic because even though I'm 17 I hate using my phone while I drive so I'm not used to trying to take pics when I'm moving but it's factory yellow in near pristine condition with the swing out tire carrier that's mounted on the bumper and the silver wheels that have the holes going around it. I don't know the name of the wheels but I never see them on a running xj

I have pretty bad ADD, so I need to put all my effort into focusing on the driving and my surroundings (in case I need to get out I the way I danger or a motorcycle) so I don't do things like using my phone that could take my focus away. That jeep was my only exception.

Also another reason. And I have had my license for over a year and haven't had a ticket or accident yet and I'm not about to get either one for using my phone. I don't want to risk the life of other people on the road because I was being stupid. I didn't even look at my phone when I took the pic. Just did it because I know what the gestures are to take a photo so I don't need to look but only hope I actually took the pic.

That's a good attitude.

And I've got you beat at 7 years no accidents or tickets (warnings for vehicle mods don't count, right?)

Keep it up!

this may not be the rarest of rare... but it took me 9 years to find it. i ran the vin and it all matched. according to the vin check with a jeep dealership, it was custom order, too. anyway.. completely all stock and all original (minus the normal replacement stuff like plug wires and oil filter and that small stuff.) its a 1988 cherokee, 2 door, 5 speed, 4.0L, 4x4 in near mint condition. nothing has been altered or replaced. all serial numbers match. most common xjs i see are 4 door, 4.0 autos and 2 door 2.5 auto or manual. (i see about the same for both. theres about 30 in my town)

I have a 95 2-door. she has some rare options for a Sport (had the best sound package w/ speaker bar, vent windows, Power windows/locks, key-less entry... 5-spoke Alloy wheels (most sports had steelies)

How ever all my mods have been putting rare options I find in junkyards in on the car. So far I have added

Laredo seats from 96 (all 4 seats have headrests) Modded to fold forward
Dash clock and silver Laredo dash bezel
White bezel header from a Country
roof console from same Country (not yet installed)
Factory brush guard (not yet installed)
Factory retractable under-hood light
Factory rear spare tire carrier from a RH drive European mail Cherokee

I have a rare dual port aftermarket draw-tite hitch. Never seen another one before.

I'll toss some pics up when I can
