Question for those who installed the 99+ Intake on RENIX era XJ
I am preparing to install the 99+ intake onto a RENIX engine in a 1987 XJ. I would appreciate some answers from those that have put this intake in a RENIX XJ.
I think I have all the parts needed, a 1995 head, TB, PS pump and bracket, plus the intake from a 2000. My specific question for today is related to the 3 control cables that connect to the Throttle Body. These are the Accelerator Pedal cable, AW4 transmission cable and the Cruise Control servo cable. In my 1987 target vehicle, these cables come up from below the intake to connect to the TB. On the HO, the cables attach to the TB across the top of the valve cover.
Will the existing cables (1987 vehicle) reach across the top of the valve cover and attach in the same way the newer intake and TB require? If not, what additional parts do I need to make the skinny pedal, AW4 and CC work?
