Default question about replacing transfer case seal

On my 94 jeep my T/C is leaking from the seal on the back of the transfer case where it connects to the drive shaft, and from what I can see you need to unbolt the 3 bolts on the extension housing to get to it, am I correct? any imput is appreciated thanks

ya your right but its not a seal, its basically black RTV. get some of the pink LocTite silicone gasket crap and use that....

It's a seal... not RTV.

You can remove the rear driveshaft, use a seal puller of carefully use a screwdriver to remove the seal. Install with a seal driver or appropriate sized socket, pipe etc to drive it in. Apply a bit of RTV around the outside metal of seal where it mates to tailcone.

To remove just the rear ds all you need to do is unbolt the U joint from the yoke. There is 2 straps with 2 8mm bolts on each one so 4 bolts take them off then use a screw driver put it between the yoke and U joint to push the ds forward on the slip the ds will fall on the U joint side then pull it out of the slip and presto ds is out.
