I'm leaning towards your issue as being the track bar bracket.
Have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth, and you put your hand on the bracket to feel for movement against the frame.
I had a bad clunking noise on my 1991 Cherokee Laredo, no matter which direction I turned. Replaced everything I could think of, and still had the noise. I had this issue for about 2 years. Last summer with the help of my step-sons, we grabbed everything underneath and around the front end, while turning the steering wheel. It was the track bar bracket. As soon as I cranked down on 1 of the 2 nuts, the nut broke off.
So I broke the other one off, drilled 2 larger holes, put in 2 New 8 Grade bolt & nuts, cranked them down real hard. I went for a short drive, and lo & behold, the clunking noise was gone. And it's still gone. Mac

Here is what I FINALLY found to be my problem, may be your problem, may not.... TRANSMISSION MOUNT!!! Once the rubber wears out there are two metal parts that are able to rub on one another and while turning/body-flex these two metal parts are able to separate from one another, then make contact again, and again. So check your tranny mount, could be for you too!

Took it to the jeep dealership today . They are SO familiar with this complaint that they knew exactly what it was . ENGINE MOTOR MOUNT DRIVERS SIDE …. It was actually stripped out a little and they had to re-thread and install new bolt … POPPING SOUND IS GONE !!!!! Hope this helps everybody ….
