Passenger side Coil Spring removal - Axle bushing access
Doing new bushings on the front axle. The spring on the passenger side is in my way of getting the drill in there. Trying to figure out a somewhat easy and safe way to get the spring out of there temporarily.
The upper arm is completely detached. Lower arm is still intact along with everything else on that side. Jeep's up on jackstands at frame rails on both sides. Axle is supported by another set of jackstands.
Was going to take the shock loose from the axle. Will it provide enough droop if I do that?
I know if I take the lower arm out it will fix almost all my issues but I am trying to put this back together by myself and already had to fight the axle into place with straps when doing the lower arms replacement. Hopefully there's a way to achieve this without taking that out.
I have a cheap set of spring compressors that I borrowed from a friend. He gave them to me and then warned me that they could fly off and hit me in the face if I wasn't careful. Yay.
Maybe the combination of unhooking the shock from the axle and then a very small amount of compressing of the spring?

Unbolt lower end of shocks, remove and support brake calipers. Will likely have to unbolt trackbar also.
Arms can stay connected. No spring compressor needed.

Got everything apart this morning. Unhooked lower shock, spring retainer clip, stabilizer bar link, track bar, and caliper. That almost gave me enough room. Lower arm was the limiting factor at that point. Then jacked up other side as suggested and everything was good.
Destroyed bump stop by mistake. Had to order a set of those. Gotta figure out how that goes in there. Looks like it just squishes up into the mount and is held in by magic.

The cup that holds the bumpstop in by magic just screws in. Unscrew it, might need some pliers. When I replaced bumpstops, they were already mounted in the metal cup. But if they're not, they just press in. There are tabs that hold it in there...magic tabs
