Default Outside tread wear

I noticed that my front tires on the outside are wearing out considerably faster than anywhere else and it is only on the front pair and not the rear. I check the air pressure and thats fine the only thing i can think of is that the control arms need to be longer because of when i turn it rubs more on the outside?

Any ideas?

Get an alignment and have it checked.

If both of your front tires are wearing on the outside.. you have too much toe in. Take a tape measure and measure across the front the tires side to side, then do the same at the rear of the tires. you want approx 1/16-1/8 smaller measurement on the front. This gives you a small amount of toe in, when driving, road force actuallymakes it almost 0". Have you recently lifted? or did you have the alignment checked after a lift?
Good luck!

after i lifted my jeep, i never got it aligned or anything and had the same problem. captainwoot is almost right, another way to measure the tires is from center to center. some tires have a center line, some dont. if they dont, you can lift the front end so the wheels spin, take some chalk and mark the entire wheel at about the center, then take something that will mark into the chalk like a nail in a board, and hold it on the ground while spinning the tire to mark it 360 degrees, then measure center to center, front and back.

I did put a lift kit on and never got it aligned. I also put on used rims tires with like 60% tread from a wrangler. Now i understand how to check everything but how do i go about correcting the problem?

You take it to an alignment shop.

I've seen home alignments done using string and stakes, but I've always felt they were a little sketchy. I would rather have someone do it on a machine.
