Default only can start jeep with jumping starter relay…HELP

Okay i just used this picture from the internet…but this is basically what i do to start my jeep…when i put a new/old/friends starter relay (so 3 separate ones) all tested good in buddies jeep. it won't start on mine…but with this jumper wire it starts perfect every time….my question is….is the ground messed up where the relay plugs in? (oh i do get a clicking sound on the relay when i try to crank)….but no crank. um like what do i bypass i guess i have been in and out of bunch of forums trying to figure it out. probably just missed this exact one sorry if it is same old question…and no i got a 5spd manual so no NSS…i have gone through all the wires that i can multiple times all good. and i have checked all the fuses…i must either be missing a wire ? like a ground to the terminal where the starter relay plugs in or maybe I'm missing something extremely easy, problem started 2 weeks ago. replaced the ignition switch after words…have put old one back in and new one back in and nothing until i jump it…..

looks strange.... doesnt make sense to me that the starter would get power with that thing in place.... I hope the starter isnt drawing power off the starter switch but I guess that would pop a fuse. this has me baffled.

do you leave that jumper wire in all the time, and the ignition works normal? or do you put that wire in just to start it then remove it?

to be it looks like your shorting 87 to 30. which I would think would run the starter constantly. Maybe someone with a schematic can chime in. Essentially, the relay is suppose to bridge 87 and 30 when it gets power from the starter switch. So I would think with the wire in, it would run the starter constantly even without the key in START as thats what the relay is suppose to do. If you can find a schematic I'll try and give better insight.

All the fuses under the driver side (where mine are all good..) all of the fuses/relays are good in the engine compartment….the only thing i can think of is the wire going to where the starter relay number 85 plugs into is bad….but i can't figure out for the life of me why where the wire ends up at and its a ***** to trace….i have replaced (after the problem started) the ignition switch, starter relay) and regrounded everything still can only start by bypassing the relay with the wire.

You are not getting power at terminal # 30.
Check voltage at that terminal,if you do not have voltage open the pdc.

Is feed from Fuse #.7 - 40 Amp (Orange).

Is power from the switch, that is why you can leave the jumper on when you go to work.

86 is switched,30 is constant.

Fuse #6 at pdc.

I doubt the switch is rated for the starters current

The relay activates the starter solenoid, not the starter.
