Default Ok my diesel sound is gone BUT!!!!

I had my oil changed this morning and it was the cheap oil in there that was causing all my engine noises and the guage not to read any oil pressure. As soon as they changed it with Castrol High Mileage 20w-50 the diesel sound was gone and my oil pressure guage shot back up.

BUT... There was NO OIL ON THE DIPSTICK when I got there! There are no oil puddles where I park it, it doesnt smoke and it has no blow by... Where could the oil have gone? 2 weeks ago it was alittle over full after I put lucas in it. The only oil leak I found before was the oil sending unit and I replaced that with a brand new one. I dont get where it could be going

I'm guessing your "cheap" oil problem was you were dangerously low on oil hence the "diesel" sounds. Stupid question, but how many quarts did you put in it for the change? Also, when you say there's no smoke, are you checking it at idle or following it when someone else is driving it while at WOT? You'd be suprised how much oil can be burned in an engine that needs rings, and at idle it may not be noticeable.

i have heard so many complaints from people that use lucas oils. they start using on average a quart a week with no leaks or smoke. when switching back to regular castrol, valvoline what have you, they stop using oil. i wouldnt put lucas in my mower.

I would ne looking under it and around the oil filter, not sure what oil you had in it before, but lucas and cheap are not in the same arena, maybe you used there additive.
I use castrol 20-50 and love it,but I also almost blew it up due to a leak, that was small, but over about 3 weeks it got low enough to cause the lifters to not work. I have to exsept the blame for that one.
If you were using lucas oil and you have no leaks anywhere, and you have no issues with the castrol I would write lucas a letter,I think they would like to know and would more than likley compensate you.
I have used there injector cleaner and additives and there are great, but not the oil,way to much for me.

if you cant find any leaks than it is burning it.
