O2 Sensor question
Hello everyone, back again with another question.
I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 with the Federal emissions system (2 O2 sensors), before I read up on what I needed I bought sensors for the California emissions system (4 O2 sensors). My question is, will any of the 4 sensors for the California system (banks 1&2 front, Banks 1&2 rear) work in my federal system or do I have to buy new O2 sensors.
Thanks again in advance and for all the help last time.

I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but...
I believe the rear upstream and downstream O2 sensors for CA emissions are the same part numbers as the upstream and downstream sensors on the EPA emissions vehicles. So you should be able to take the two that you would have installed before and after the rear precat and install them in the regular upstream and downstream locations in your federal emissions truck. Then put the other two up on eBay or in the member classified section to recoup some of your money.
I know the connectors are different for the upstream and downstream sensors. I'm not sure if the connectors are different for front and rear, but the wire lengths are different for front and rear.

These are NTK(OEM)sensor #'s
For your 2000 XJ w/Fed. emissions:
upstream #23506 (used as upstream for cylinders 4-6 w/Calif emissions)
downstream #23099 (used as downstream for cylinders 4-6 w/Calif emissions)
