Default Noise when turning

AS my title says I have a noise when turning. I actually thought it might be my tires as it almost sounds like a rubbing noise. My dad and I checked and it isn't the tires rubbing because they don't come close to rubbing.

Also, the sound only comes when I turn right.

We think it could be axle U-joints? Want to make sure before throwing money at it and have that not be right.

Also, with the front end lifted in the air when I turn the wheels both sides will rotate in the same direction. Is that normal even when the the vehicle is in 2wd?

It just may be the steering shaft rubbing on the rubber boot at the firewall. A little bit of lube on that boot will cure the problem for years to come.

I am pretty sure it is not that because it will make that noise while the vehicle is turning but even while not turning the steering wheel.

Could it be a bad wheel bearing(s)? Maybe ball joints? Have you lifted the front end up to see if there is any play in the wheels?

Yeah, I forgot to say that the ball joints and wheel bearings have been checked.

Yeah, I guess I will get the u-joint and hope that is it. Have checked the wheel bearing a couple times and that does seem to be the problem.

I don't care if someone looks at your ball joints and says they look fine, if you have never replaced them I would replace them. Don't wait till the ball joints are so lose you can move them with your own strength..That's just me. In most cased noise when turning is either u-joints or ball joints or both. A ball joint can shift when turning even if you can't wiggle or move them.

Ok will do the u-joints first as I use a big bar to check the ball joints and there was no movement. If that does not clear up the issue then ball joints will be next on the list. Thanks everyone.
