Yeah good point. What about a clocked oil filter or other cheeky problems? Can those be put into consideration?

Check oil pressure at start-up. If you have 'some', then it drops off after warm-up. Bearings are worn, major work needed.

Rev the engine. Do you get some oil pressure, but it drops off at idle? Worn bearings.

When I bought mine, everything was 'perfect'. The oil was clean, clean ,CLEAN! Too clean. The PO had changed it to hide any signs of leaking coolant. I knew nothing of the 0331 head problem so I didn't investigate heavily. The pressure was fine until engine hit operating temp. My pressure would dip to 0 at idle when the motor was hot. So...........

hope you avoid a headache.

Oh god, what you described there seems like what I'll be dealing with next week... Fingers crossed it won't... But I do have in mind that it will be that.

no other considerations. Clogged oil filters go into bypass mode, not stop oil flow.

Ah :/

So, to start off with, I'll just open the oil filler cap and look for brown white crap... Then I'll probably shake hands with the owner and leave with no jeep. But I'll keep looking !
