right on, Jhosgood....glad you sorted that out!....

hey man....been there and done that!...and helped others in distress!....mostly successful.....try this next time (unless there is a security plate over the door lock mechanism)....

1. locate a hanging file folder, strip out one of the flat hanging rods (has a perfect hook in it for this purpose!)....wrap some tape about 4" up one end or wear some gloves to protect your palms/fingers...
2. slip the rod between glass and molding just above the door lock...
3. place a finger on the door lock key hole and feel the rod touching it (may have to put a slight bend in the rod - like the shape of the door)...hook the rod on the door lock rod...there is a perpendicular rod that connects to a horizontal rod...you're looking for the perpendicular rod on the other side of the key hole...
4. keep your finger on the key hole while pushing down/pulling up on the rod firmly but gently....
5. you should feel the lock pop...when the rod is pushed/pulled in the correct direction....obviously, don't push/pull again since it will lock, again!....
6. grab handle, push button, open door!

I can't tell you how many times my wife has done this. Me being a cheap dude I got in it several times by my self with a hard rubber wedge and a small rod. I have since installed a magnet key holder inside the front bumper so she can unlock her self if ever needed and she has used that more times than I would like to know about.

I haven't locked myself out of a vehicle very many times, but enough times to know I don't like it... so I carry a spare door key in my billfold.

I've done it so often I carry two sets of keys...one in each front pocket. Heck, I live in the snow belt and I've locked the truck with the engine running more than once.

Well, it's always good to carry a spare key or two with you... on your person somewhere.
