Need To burp my cooling system?
All,
I have read several threads on here about burping the cooling system i have two questions if anyone could help me out.
1. Is it still a good ideal to drill holes in my t-stat at the 12:00 and 6:00 position in my jeep?
2. if i do that would it negativity affect my warm up time? I know the coolant flow ammount would not be much at all, just wondering if it was noticeable to any one that has drilled the holes in thier T-Stat.
As always thanks for all of your input!

I always drill two tiny 1/16" holes in a new t-stat after I've checked it for proper operation in a pan of water on the stove using a cooking thermometer. Did this last Saturday as I replaced all the hoses, the belt, t-stat housing, t-stat (180F), coolant and coolant temp sensor. ScanGauge now floats 181F - 188F and the heater will make you sweat.
