Default motor running rough?

I have an 01 Sport, It is running like crap (missin, and when i get to about 2000 rpm to 3000 rpm it halfway good, but at 3000 rpm it just gases and quites like vroom vroom vroom, like im hittin the gas to the floor and letting off really quick).

now i replaced the plugs, replaced the coil pack strip(wireless ignition), and cleaned the fuel injectors, and i compression tested all six cylinders and they checked out good and even(so no valvetrain issues).

When i took it in (before injector clean) the mechanic told me to try cleanin the injectors (so i did) and then he said that hes seen xj's ECM's go bad because they get water in them and short/screw it up.

i am completely dumbfounded and am looking for help and any ideas.

My next thing that i am thinkin of doin is trying to find a new computer at a junkyard or on Ebay. (good idea or no)

getting misfire on cylinder 5 and misfire on cylinder 6 and multiple misfire codes

thanks alot for any help folks

The experience I have is with older XJs but I have found that the ECUs are pretty bulletproof unless submerged in water or they get a voltage spike. A voltage spike can occur if you fail to unhook the negative cable from the battery when you are welding or when someone jump starts another vehicle and get the cables backward. Hope this will convince you that the mechanic is not sure either and trying to sell you something you may not need.

If it's always cylinders 5 and 6 why not switch 5-6 injectors w/1-2 injectors and see if your code changes to 1-2 misfire. If it changes, it's the injectors-if not, at least you know it's not the injectors.

P.S.
Disconnect the battery to clear codes after swapping injectors.

Should be. It is on a Chevy so I think it is on a Jeep.

Battery needs to stay disconnected overnight (12 hours) to let the 'puters memory bleed off. At least on Chevys.
