Default Broken Horn Button?

Hey ya'll i got my latest xj a few days ago, and earlier today i went to honk at a moron in a camaro who flew around a corner going the wrong way around the McDonalds where i work, and its a one way "street" when i push the "horn" there is no resistance for about 1/3 of an inch and then it hits what i assume is the button or switch in the wheel itself. From what it seems to me it is like the button was pushed in but never came "un-pushed in" if that makes sense. how is this fixed? and a pic of my new xj! and my Suburban (that's for sale) wanted to be in the pic..

theres a lil tiny piece of tube like metal on a spring. when the horn thing is pushed in, spring compresses, making the metal touch and the horn to sound.
atleast on mine. i took it apart, messed with it and popped it together again. turned the key and almost shat myself, horn went off and never went off. now i have it rigged to a button that says "trunk release", oh the fun ive had with that.

Try a little silicone spray to loosen it up. Do not use electrical contact cleaner, it will melt the surrounding plastic. Those are some pretty cool wheels.

EDIT: disregard, I was thinking cruise button...

Is your airbag light on by chance? How do you know the relay is good?
