Thats a little rough of a comparison. You are comparing two different vehicles. JKs are fully coil sprung, aren't most Cherokees coil and leaf? What Cherokee do you have?

flex is better like everybody said. the main difference will be drive ability and handling. itll ride better as well.

if you are only planning on a 4.5 kit I've got the hookup on a bad@ss custom built LA kit designed for the xj...check my sig...that's what I'm rockn...flexes like a mother...buddy of mine who's a mechanical engineer builds all of his own xj stuff...best I've seen and WAY cheaper than ur mainstream companies...night and day difference from my old short arms!...rides so smooth!...would reccommend LA's to everyone!...if nothn else just for the driveability!...with no swaybars and the correct supporting driveline parts you can't go wrong!

Just saying that short arm lifts are not bad on ride quality if therein set up correctly, my 96 cherokee rides as good as my jk with la lift. Cherokees ride bad stock, if you want something that rides good get a cadillac.

its kinda hard comparing two completely different jeeps. but you can compare long arm to short arm and there's a big difference in on road driving and off road capability. with short arms the control arm angles are horrible. that's why they make drop brackets to make them like stock dimension. a long arm is better in every way. a short arm will work yes. but if you can get a long arm you wont regret it.

Yeah I'm proli just gonna be going with the short arm lift with drop brackets right now.

So it looks like the majority of people are saying LA and some say SA... now I just gotta figure out if ill need an SYE with a 4.5" lift keep hearing yay and nay on that subject.

With the lift that my xj had when I bought it it has new arms and I think they are 16.5" which means I can buy my own lift and make a frankenstein 4.5" lift but have it not be junkyard status lol
