Lifters?
I was wondering what kind of lifters are in my 85' 4 cyl.
And what way you would recommend for me to adjust the valves.
Running or not?
Tools?

No.
Lifters ride on the cam, pushrods ride on the lifters and push up on the rockerarms, the rocker arms pivot on a fullcrum, the rocker arm in turn pushes down on a intake or exhaust valve. The valve is returned to its closed positon by way of a valve spring.
None of the these components are adjustable on a 4.0L motor.

Ok. Thanks anyways guys.
Figured that it might be a way to fix a tick sound that I thought was a loose valve.
Thanks,

Your tick is coming from a worn out lifter.........nothing you can do other than try a thicker oil....Our rockers are "Pedestal" mount rockers....they are bolted down to 18-20 ftlb at the factory No guess work.(they can be adjusted with shims however a stock Motor wont have to worry about this) the adjustability you are refering to is "Stud" mount rockers....they can be adjusted with the engine running but that is a old school method the chevy guys use to use...and its messy
