Default 4.5" RC Kit.. go long or short arm?

I am looking to get an RC 4.5" kit for my 93 Country.. http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_...lift_kits.html ... I dont have a whole heck of alot of money and I don't know all the pros and cons of long or short arm kits..
It wont be wheeled much and is my daily driver... Im hoping to also get some 32x11.5 tires in the future but need a lift first. I hope that this kit is actually bolt on and that's all the parts I need for my stock jeep.. I definitely want a 4.5" kit and nothing smaller. Please tell me what would be better for me for arms... I need to know why long is twice the price!
Thanks in advance for any info

Long arms ride better and flex better. I would just save up and do long arm. You will end up wanting it later anyways. 4.5" on short arm is pretty much the limit and it's gonna ride a bit rough.

Yep, get the long arm we all seem to want to get there some time.

And most kick them selves for not doing it first..

For what it's worth, if it were me, the 6.5" kit is only $150 more and it comes with full leaf packs. The leaf packs would be totally worth the extra coin while the bonus 2" would just be icing on the cake. Just my two-hundredths of a dollar.

He said he has plans for 32's so there's no real need for a 6" lift unless he's a mud man. You can still get the optional full leaf packs with the 4.5" kit.

Thanks guys.. guess I will save the pennies for the 4.5" LA kit... the 6.5" I think is a bit much for me but I'm sure it would be rad on most rigs. Looks like better parts come in the long arm kit aswell like the steel brakelines, 2.2 Shock Upgrade, Skid Plates and such... sure hope that's all I need for now

Yeah, I think they really outdid themselves with the parts spec they are letting go at this cheap of a price. It is a steal of a deal compared to pretty much every other kit out there. Are you going to get the full leaf packs?

Yeah it sure is... I don't think I need the full leaf but I am planning to go to my local Rough Country dealer in the next few days and have a suspension specialist to take a look as well and give me an estimate... I would like to do all the work on my own with a buddy of mine though.. I gotta learn these things!

I ended up getting the 4.5" RC short arm and installed it myself over 2 days and another day to find a special nut that apparently nobody sells haha..
I drove it carefully for about a week and then went about 150Km on the highway and no speed wobble .. Im loving the lift!

Im for long arms all the way, the benefits you get from them seriously outweigh the "benefits" you would get outuv a short arm kit. my jeep came with a short arm 4.5 inch lift and when i went wheelin then it was like watching the special olympics (even if i made it through the trail i was still retarded).

now that i made some LA's for mine it rides better, it flexes better, its easier to take my axle out (if needed), and another plus is just having them is a great conversation starter.
