Default Lets see your home brew paint jobs!

i looked around for it, couldnt find it so i figured id start one... what do you all have for home brew paint jobs? how much did you pay for it, and how much time did it take, maybe a before and after pic? ill start it off

After


$55 in paint and materials (tape, paper, and some white pin striping), it took me and a buddy about 8 work hours from start to finish. whatcha think?

I like it, its stupid to paint something up all pretty then slam it into trees offroad.

I'll be doing a roll on job to mine aswell

i like the way you painted it man...looks pretty good...deffinitly wont find another jeep like it..Im painting my jeep Lamborghini Yellow this winter..going to be sweet

Default My home brew paint job

Paint = Free (left over from other car)
spray on bedliner = $25
reducer, clear coat, hardener = $66
misc. stuff (tape, glue for emblems, sandpaper, etc. = $50 or so
Total plus or minus $140

It took a while to prep it maybe 10 or more hours
masking and painting 6 hours
bedlining fenders and trim 2 hours

that is knarly! i saw that a couple days ago when i googled paint jobs on xjs... hellova job. i noticed you have washington plates where abouts are you? im down in the tri-citys and there really arent many xjs down here.

it is just flat black paint and a satin navy blue... i understand not everyone is going to like it but i have to ask why you think it looks "terrible", what makes it so "terrible"? and the reason i painted it is because of the fact that there was no more clear coat,look closely you can see the color difference of reds on the top and bottom, the other side had faded differently and was more orangey then the rest.

How did you dry it? Just let it sit?

No i don't get down there very often. There is an ORV park but i mostly wheel on private property. other than that i don;t really know of any

here is after paint job 4.5 inch lift and a 50 dollar JY brush guard with lights Need some rims so I can put my 33's on got some goodyear wangler mt/r's 33-12.5 r15
