Default Let go of your steering wheel!

When you let go of your steering wheel, how straight does your XJ track down the road?

Mine wanders to the right because when the drivers side wheel is pointed forward the left wheel is a little ****-eyed to the outside, how can I fix this?

Firestone alignments don't help, and yes I've tried to adjust the tie rod for toe in but I think that moves both wheels at the same time.

Check that all your steering componets are straight. a slight bend could throw it off.

Mine tracks straight on a smooth road. Due to needing to adjust my caster, off 2.5 deg, and having old tires it will wander a little. I have 3.5" lift.
Obviously Firestone doesn't know how to adjust a Tie Rod End. Most shops won't touch caster, which causes most wandering issues. You could, pop the TRE off at the left wheel and twist it in a turn or 2, then put it back into the knuckle. Then adjust your own alignment: http://go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoAlignment.htm.

Alignment was fine until I got new [used] wheels, I wonder if one is warped?

Sometimes I can drive straight for hundreds of feet, but then sometimes I have to fight her to keep out of the gutter. But then again, half the streets here are more like triangles than proper flat streets.

To scared to let go of the wheel... course i live in michigan and our ability to make a decent road is a joke. Will do a little wander if i am on a road that is decent enough....
