Default Leaking tranny pan

Hopefully I'm in the right place. Yesterday I replaced my transmission filter. I made the horrible mistake of having my buddy put the pan back on while I took a smoke break. He's crossthreaded half the bolts, and now the tranny leaks frim around the pan. Any quick fixes? Or am I better off making him drill out, retap, and replace all 19 bolts? (Scared he might f*** that up too...)

Also it only seems to leak when parked with the engine off.

Update: been reading reviews on Lucas Transmission Fix and thinking about tossing a bottle of that in for s***s and giggles. Does anyone have any personal experience with this stuff?

Yet another update: to day I threw in a bottle of Lucas tranny fix to keep my tranny from bleeding out entirely. I'll continue to check in on this thread from time to time for a more permanent fix.

Don't let your buddy touch anything.

Should have sent him home after I sent him out for an oil filter and he came back with a fuel filter...

First thing I'd try is chasing the threads with a tap.

This, although I'm not sure I would use a tap. Sometimes taps are too aggressive and they'll just make they're own path. If you could get a threadchaser that would do the trick.

I cross threaded a bolt the other day and i fixed it by basically forcing the bolt to go through straight. I pretty much used the bolt as a thread chaser. It took effort and force but worked, I definitely wouldn't want to do it 19 times.

Tell your friend we're all ashamed of him and he's not allowed to jeep anymore.

This works fine if you use the small tap handles about 4" long total with the tap in the middle using just your fingers and oil. I have done 100's of these over the last 50 yrs this way as a first step to see if it will work before more drastic measures.
