I just swapped my fuel injectors in my 99 4.0 to Ford YR3E-A4A (used in Ford 3.8v6 and 4.2 v6). After I installed them I noticed they don't have the grooves in them for the jeep clips..I ordered them new online..Is it safe to install them with no clips??

Default Define safe. lol

When you bolt the fuel rail down they shouldnt move. make sure the O rings are good and the injectors are the correct length. Then mount a fire extinguisher. Just in case.

I bolted it up, no leaks after running it for awhile. I think I will be ok based on the fuel rail, I will have to find clips that will work on that style injector. FYI I love these injectors!! My motor runs better than ever (and it already ran excellent). Only draw back it doesnt start instantly, just a little hesistation. It does feel extremely strong, and alot smoother. The engine is running alittle cooler as well.

nice looking xj in your avatar.

not sure why it wouldnt start as fast, bit wierd.
i assume you cleaned them good?
try running some seafoam in your gas tank and see if it cleans them out any more, might help the problem.
