junk yard gold!!!
today my wife & I went to the JY. it's almost sad to see how many victims of cash for clunkers. I ended up leaving with a wheel barrow full of XJ & ZJ parts. now all 4 doors on the XJ can be opened from both the inside and outside, and they even close without slamming them. we also replaced the lower dash. the lower dash came with a bonus, the TCM. once we got the new to us parts home and installed, it was like Christmas morning. my wife put the XJ in drive and for the first time in 6 months it found first gear and actually shifts on it's own now. so after spending a grand total of $112.00 we have a fully functioning XJ. I'd love to drive it over to the shop that was trying to convince me the tranny was shot!!!

ya, I was in shock about have many really( I mean REALLY) clean XJ's ZJ's WJ's and a few YJ's there were. disgusts me at how much of a disposable society we've become. there was one ZJ in particular that was cleaner then mine, not a scratch on it and leather interior without a tear. I just don't get it.

but instead i got a nice condition 00 center consul and put it in-$25 for EVERYTHING that i needed. still not a bold on mod tho....

Went to Harry's U-Pull It today. The one in Hazelton, Pa. .....the largest U-Pull It in the country! Only $2 admission. www.WeGotUsed.com The had just pulled in a "new" XJ ... yesterday! It was sad because it was so beautiful! I mean better than most of the ones I see on the road. I quickly dove underneath for the starter, which is what I went for, and found ..... a brand new starter! It still had the PAPER upc code sticker on it. Now my XJ starts faster than it ever has since I've owned it. I've had it for 2 years.
OK, that was awesome, so what else could I take out of this beauty. If I had the cash on me I would have taken the ENTIRE interior out of it. I took out the headliner, YAY, been looking for a long time for one with the fiberglass intact.
Also got the sound bar with Pioneer speakers in them in great shape. (I've already recovered it, as you can see in the pic.)
I put the sound bar on top of the headliner exactly how it sits in the Jeep, if it were upside down on a table, and he only charged me for one headliner piece, and didn't charge me at all for the speakers.
With what should have cost me $60, I walked out with only paying $35!
