Default Junk Yard alternator

Anyone know of a junkyard alternator swap for one thats more powerful than the stock XJ 4.0 one?

i think there is only 2 diff outputs 60 v belt or 90 serp. not sure tho. Unless you mean from another vehical not just jeep

most facotry ones are 60 or 90 amp. your best bet would be just to buy a new replacement unless your running HEAVY stereo equipment then go for a 170 amp

The Grand Cherokee had a 130 amp model that is suppose to work. Also I remember a post talking about a direct replacement 120 amp one you could get.

Here's the thread I am talking about on the 120 amp...as for the 130 amp it is actually a 136 amp.

Find a good local shop that rebuilds alternators, and have em give yours a little more punch.

yeah but i thought if u swap a grand one u have to mount where the ac pump is if im not mistaken?

No heavy stereo, just want to have the heat on high and all the lights on without a huge drop in power.
