Jeep not overheating, but I am... thoughts?
I've been searching heat and hot, and everything I come up with is coolant system overheating...
I've never really looked over the cooling system too closely, but it would seem that most of the heat stays in the engine compartment, and soaks through to the passenger compartment. After driving the Jeep for any length of time the floor pans get quite hot compared to most other vehicles, and the A/C just doesn't seem to be able to keep up.
I've been thinking about putting down some Dynamat under the carpet, and maybe looking for a place to put some engine compartment vents. Or are there heat shields underneath that maybe we're missing. I'm thinking a coolant system flush might be a good start, plus adding a temporary aftermarket temp gauge, just to see what's really going on.
Any thoughts here? If this is something that's been covered, sorry I missed it, please point me in the right direction. This is on a '98 4WD, 4.0L

i would flush your radiator, your tranny is probobly heating up to a higher then normal temp and heating up your cabin. also when you get to operating temp, put the car in park and check the tranny fluid, low fluid will cause high heat and premature transmission failure. also remember the fluid cycles through your radiator, make sure none of those lines are pinched or blocked, and that your radiator is in good condition. also low transfercase fluid will cause high heat as well
