Default Jeep courtesy light

First of all I would like to thank ALL OF YOU for being a part of this nice forum. I learned a lot from this forum before I even joined this site. I just bought my xj 99 from a friend and Ive been on your website eversince!! So thanks!

For my question... I have replaced the dome, map reader and back interior light color blue (led). Now I just cant figure out how to replace the courtesy/foot area light. Do I have to unscrew something? Many thanks!!

There is little dome shaped plastic bulb covers covering the bulbs in the foot area. Just twist them about a quarter turn and they should pop off allowing access to the bulbs.

No its easy. The plastic part is the hard part, but not rocket science. Hope it works out! I went with green led's in mine. Www.superbrightleds.com is the place to go.

Im sorry to bug you for some more questions.. but do you know what bulb size is for that particular light? I was on that site you gave me but I think the "guide" they have right there is not giving me the right one.. thanks

They have a size guide on the site. It reroutes you to the sylvania website that has all the numbers. I believe i used the 1156 single contact ones. But thats only off the top of my head. I didnt put the plastic piece back on cuz the light was too big. But its bright as hell n looks good. Hope this helps
