Jammed Light Gate
Hey guys, another problem already :P My lift gate is jammed or siezed. I try to open it and it wont budge(almost feels locked). So i put the key in and try to turn and it wont budge in either direction. I put some pb blaster inside the key hold and on the locking part itself from the inside but I still cant get it to budge...anyway to maybe open it from the inside by playing with a screw driving on the latch? Im lost here.

Eh just pop the cove off and you can manually release the hatch latch..No need to cut it,..You might break the platic pin things but I can show you a easy way to fix it for easier removal in the future..

OKCs method may be better than mine. I had this happen to a 92 I had and I made a panel to be able to remove to get to the actual mechanism. I was a little aggressive when it happened in a grocery store parking lot and me with a shopping cart of Ice Cream headed to a childs party.

you wouldnt happen to know where the little pins are do you? So i can have a better chance of getting it off in one peice...also once I get this opened, any ideas on why the key wont turn in the lock?

well you will break the pins..Reason is you have no way up putting a panel puller or putty knife at the seems since it is shut. Even then you are likley to break them since it is an older vehicle..I was careful and mine broke simply due to age..I just bought some anchors and drilled out the panel and screwed mine in. Much more secure and easy to get out later down the road.
