Issue installing new transmission mount
Hello!
I have a 98 XJ 4.0 Automatic.
Last night I installed Brown Dog Motor Mounts, this morning I went to install a new Daystar KJ01007BK transmission mount.
After tightening down the new transmission mount to the transmission, I went to put the crossmember back on and I had an issue. The stud on the drivers side lined up with the hole in the crossmember, the 4 studs on the transmission mount lined up, but the passenger side stud was too far forward. Tried forcing it a little but but couldn't get the passenger side stud to fall into the hole on the crossmember.
Any tips for installing a new tranny mount and reinstalling the crossmember?
The trans mount is the "off-center" one and everything lines up with the stock trans mount so I am fairly certain it is the correct trans mount.
Also, I wasn't paying attention when I took off the old trans mount.. I called Daystar and asked which way should the 4 studs be facing and they told me driver but I thought it was passenger. Can someone confirm?
Also, how can I be sure I have the crossmember going the correct way?
I am frustrated and ready to get this thing back on the road.
Thank you so much for the help.

And use a ratchet strap to pull the Xmember back to align the holes. Assuming that you have the trans mount bolted in correctly.

Daystar Trans Mount
From my experience, while installing this perticular mount (Daystar Part # KJO1010BK). The mount bolts will line up if installed correctly, however, I believe one must 1st intall perhaps a half inch spacer between the mount & the transmission in order to compensate for the mount studs to reach the cross member for attachment. Because the stock mount is taller.
Please, Please, Correct me if I'm wrong!!!
