Cause of the age betting somewhere else.
Try the firewall or the radiator support.
3 characters and thinking in your case starting with an A or H.
Be 2 letters followed by a number.

On early XJ's, (84-90) the paint code is on the little plate riveted to the drivers side corner of the engine bay. The paint code is above the VIN. The VIN is on the bottom of the plate, so look for the code printed above the VIN in the middle.

Found it
So the paint code is on the plate that is in the engine bay, on the back driver side corner. My paint code is QB3. Which I have found to be spinnaker blue. But I have also found that there are at least 5 other paint codes that are also spinnaker blue. So are all spinnaker blues the same? I am looking to repaint my jeep and I want to get the right color.
