Default Misfire or ?

97 XJ, 4.0, 5 speed

Ok, so lately I've been having this crazy jerking at highway speeds. Sometimes it will do it going around town, but it will drive OK in 5th as long as I don't get above a certain speed. In other gears it will occasionally jerk if I get above a certain RPM (~2100). The crazy thing about it is the problem goes away at WOT. I've been trying to research possible causes and most people's problems seem to occur either only at WOT or including WOT.

My problem goes away completely if I stomp the skinny pedal, but as soon as I let off in the slightest the hesitation/jerking returns.

So far I have replaced the cat (probably unrelated, but the old one had a large hole in it from where it got clogged and I had no money for a new one so I cut it open), replaced the TPS, cleaned the IAC and throttle bottle, replaced plugs and wires, and ran some injector cleaner through the fuel system. I'm kinda running out of ideas, and I was hoping someone here could help. I haven't messed with the MAP sensor yet, and I plan on replacing the distributor cap and button, but other than that what else can I try?

I tried pulling the CPS, but I didn't have enough extensions to reach the bolt and be able to turn the wrench...

Anyway, new information. I went to Advance to get a distributor cap and button, and while I was there I used their OBDII scanner to check the MIL code and to clear it out. Well, the scanner told me that it was still the TPS and that the problem was "high voltage." So I'm wondering: did I just mess the new TPS when I installed it? Or is it a wiring/voltage regulator problem?
