How do you replace a steering box?

How do you replace a steering box?
I did a little research, and i got the basic idea i think, but is there anything i need to know, or do when i replace my steering box? How to i get the steering wheel, and the steering back where it use to be, is the pitman arm keyed? Any ideas, or help? Thanks

The pitman arm is splined and it has 4 master splines, so you can put it on 4 different ways. I'd put the pitman arm on the shaft and put the nut on finger tight then see where you're at and go from there.
The steering shaft can only go on the box one way, so you'll be fine there.

This should give you a pretty good idea. With alot of installs there's usually something in the write up section that can help you out. Thats where I usually look first if i'm not sure.

god its easy as hell
My jeep was on a small two track and the steering completely went out it would've been nice if the 2 track wasn't curvy as hell so i accomplished it in the cold Michigan weather its pretty effing easy so happy

The hardest part of my steering box replacement was getting the pitman arm off. I used a pitman puller, a bfh and a map gas torch. It finally came off with one hell of a BANG! Winter salt roads do lovely things to connectors.

I would recommend getting a JCR HD replacement steering box spacer as the factory ones are made

X2 and maybe have some new bolts ready to go in. 2 of mine were really corroded from the aluminum spacer and broke right at the spacer.
