How to delete air conditioning?

How to delete air conditioning?
92' XJ, 4.0 and the A/C is worthless in a winter vehicle. I've checked on autozone for belts and the non A/C belt is smaller than the A/C belt. However, I've read on forums that they say that the only way to delte your a/c comp. is to use a idler pully and retain the bracket that the pump is mounted too.
Is this correct?
Or can I just buy the non a/c belt and remove the a/c pump and bracket and run it without the comp. ?
I am trying to free up some room under the hood and I have never used the a/c and the system is dry.
I am also unable to find a belt routing diagram for the 4.0 HO without a/c.

Napa used to sell the ac delete bracket,but I can't seem to find it anymore. Check Napa on line,or maybe Autozone.

im pretty sure all the non-a/c jeeps still used an idler pulley in place of the a/c compressor.
i also used the NAPA idler when i took the a/c out of my 93

The reason for running both A/C and heat at the same time on defrost is that the A/C both cools and dries the air. When that air is then heated, it is capable of absorbing more moisture from the windows more quickly.
I was really impressed with how much performance I was able to get from a lightweight underdrive pulley on my 300zx. It cuts parasitic drag by a safe 15%, but it also cut 10lbs of mass off of the engine. I couldn't find the equivalent for Cherokee.
