how to clear check engine warning light

how to clear check engine warning light
I have change the TPS and now the check engine sign is illuminated on the dash.....any suggestions on how to clear this?

never tried it but heard you can diconnect the battery cables and hold them together for 30 seconds... resets the computer... otherwise sometimes you can get the autozon guy to erase it... just tell them you need your codes checked and when it pulls it up say "i just replaced it, can you clear it and see if i stays away" act stupid... otherwise a shop will charge you $35...

the batt cables will do the trick. some people say leave them overnight, others say 15 mins. i left mines taped together for about 10 mins and it had cleared the codes and the CEL was off.
most advance auto's/autozone's have code scanners, some will just give it to you to use out in the parking lot to clear the codes.

If you pull the batter cables the computer has to relearn which might not be that bad, but also pull the fuse to the radio if it has a memory the voltage from the radio can keep the PCM alive
