I dont know of a full article off hand but what I would do is go over to pirate4x4 and just read the chop articles they have there, be very sure not to post. If you have any further more specific questions please feel free to ask them here.

Problem with both Pirate and NAXJA is they dont go into detail regarding how to chop, pretty much everybody has a different method and they usually just chop until they feel it is enough.

Thats the most important part of it, do to the XJ being a uni-body with out a cage when chopped it will end up folding in on it self...

Without the "D" pillar and support from something it will fold like a taco. Unibody structures are interdependent and require other body parts to support each other. Without the type structure you get with a cage the unibody will stand up to little flexing before it begins to tear the sheet metal apart. A cage prevents that from happening. If you go this route keep that in mind and take multiple views of everything you do and then post up the photos with accompanying explanations. Good luck.

Maybe a little bit of exaggerating there but you will have issues down the road unless you reinforce the uni-body in some way. It won't fold like a taco but wouldn't be in the original condition after some off roading.

That was funny what you said Kyle. "check out pirate but don't post " I posted a few things over there a few years ago and they flamed me big time. These same people were from around here and i happened to run into some of them at a jamboree in west virginia. They were some of the coolest and nicest people but total as$wipes on the forum? i don't get it....

They assume too much knowledge is in everyone's heads. We don't all have the experience that they have with radical builds. So their egos take over their common courtesy and their manners.
